Customer Services Assistant salary: £22,192 – £22,451 (pro rata)
Customer Adviser salary: £23,602 – £25,113 (pro rata)

All three positions are permanent and part-time, on average 3 days per week
Weekend and bank holiday working

We’re looking for two Customer Advisers and a Customer Assistant to join our team at our new Visitor Information Centre in Hawkshead which is opened this February 2024. You’ll share your love of the Lake District with thousands of visitors and use your local knowledge to make their visit even more memorable.

What’s it like to work here?
You’ll be based in the centre of the village at our Hawkshead Information and Bike Hire Centre, a honeypot site in the south of the national park. It entails working as part of a small team to deliver a friendly and enthusiastic information service alongside a great local retail offer.

The role
Your main duties and responsibilities include
Customer Adviser:
• Help visitors get the most out of their visit to the Lake District National Park area by providing a high friendly and informative customer service
• Working in the visitor centre shop and ensuring our retail displays are kept orderly and eye catching for our customers
• Being a keyholder and handling cash for the Information Centre
• Direct involvement with the stock management of our retail offer
• Responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of our visitors and staff by following all Health & Safety and fire processes
• Work positively with volunteers and welcome them into the team

Customer Services Assistant:
• Help visitors get the most out of their visit to the Lake District National Park area by providing a high friendly and informative customer service
• Working in the visitor centre shop and ensuring our retail displays are kept orderly and eye catching for our customers
• Cash handling
• Work positively with volunteers and welcome them into the team

We will also be delivering bike hire from the centre and this role will include helping to facilitate this process.

About you
Ideally you will have some experience of working in a fast-paced environment. Retail experience is preferred, as is a good knowledge of the Central Lakes. However, the most important thing is that you are passionate about the Lake District and about sharing this passion with our visitors.
