Holker Hall is the family home of the Cavendish family, situated on the shores of Morecambe Bay in the south Lakes. Welcoming over 50,000 visitors each season, the site is host to a number events throughout the season, as well as providing a daily visitor offer. We’re looking for an Operations Manager to join our Visitor Services team who are responsible for the day to day delivery of an exceptional visitor experience across the site, including Holker Hall and the formal gardens, the Courtyard Café and our Gift Shop. The team also deliver the varied events programme that runs alongside. The role has real scope for someone looking for an exciting and varied career move, and a real opportunity to use their imagination, creativity and organisational skills.

The Operations Manager will have key stakeholder interactions with the Visitor Services management team and our seasonal staff across the site, as well as contractors, suppliers and the wider Holker Group.

Alongside the Head of Visitor Services the Operations Manager will:

  • Plan, execute and oversee all guest operations and ensure the visitor experience is of the highest possible quality
  • Develop, plan and execute an evolving events programme throughout the season with the aim of driving visitor numbers
  • Meet agreed financial targets and manage expenditure in line with the agreed budgets
  • Ensure that all areas of the site are always in a highly presentable and functioning state
  • Recruit, train and develop an exceptional team
  • Work alongside the Café Manager develop and organise the smooth and profitable running of functions including weddings, celebrations of life, and other events
  • In conjunction with the Visitor Services team develop a rolling marketing plan that includes targeted promotions for the Café food offer and for all events and activities
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant legislation
