Purpose of the Role 

As a member of the Property & Estate Services team (more than 20 Grounds staff, Duty fitters & technicians), provide a measured, professional service. Covering maintenance of a responsive, preventative, and progressive nature. 

The estate comprises of Individual Lodge properties, The Langdale Hotel, The Brimstone Hotel, Fitness & Leisure centre and Brimstone Spa, The Stove restaurant, and Wainwrights public house.

Role Requirements 

  • Understanding of Hospitality environments
  • Ability to fulfil general maintenance tasks, safety regulations and compliance policies.
  • Ability to work independently on your own initiative and problem solve.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to undertake a varied workload, to the highest standard and work to tight deadlines.
  • Work with a diligent attention to detail.
  • Innovative and contribute to the development and improvement of the estate.
  • To carry out day to day checks & maintenance on the estate.
  • To monitor and maintain heating and electrical installations, equipment and machinery.
  • To be responsible for the correct operation of Pool plant, equipment, and machinery. 
  • To monitor and maintain chemical balance and water quality for the pools.
  • To monitor electrical and plumbing services and immediately report any faults to the Maintenance manager.
  • Assist management in the development of preventative maintenance programmes.
  • Conduct routine and emergency maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Fulfil related administrative tasks. 
  • Monitor the operation of the Biomass boilers, hydroelectric water wheel and PV solar panels.
  • Provide in-house Pool Plant room and water testing training as appropriate.
  • Respond to work orders in a timely and efficient manner ensuring that guests are not adversely affected.

A few ‘need to knows’ 

  • This role is offered with a salary of £28,508.73 per annum as a live out position.
  • Our interview format depends on the position applying for, generally a virtual Teams call followed by an onsite visit. Where there is a good fit between candidate and hiring manager, a trial is often scheduled to allow candidates to test a role out for themselves! A new job has to be right for you of course. Depending on your existing location, we can accommodate overnight stays. This can be tailored to suit an individual’s needs; just tell us what you need, and we will do what we can to make it work for you.  
  • Shift patterns consist of eight-hour shifts working over five days of our seven-day week. As part of our training programme (whether that be as a new starter or continuous role related training), colleagues are required to take part in all shift patterns.
