Upload your current sector-based vacancies on the Visit Lake District website for FREE! If you’re a member of Cumbria Tourism, we will promote these vacancies on our socials, at various careers events and jobs fairs. Inspira and Job Centres use the link to support those who are unemployed.
Sector Workplace Academy Programmes
Cumbria Tourism are going to introduce SWAPs with the help of Talent Hub Partners and stakeholders in the sector. Featuring a two-day training course with guaranteed interviews upon successful completion. An introduction to the job role, offering people the chance to try it out before committing.
Recruitment case studies: helping to promote careers in the industry

Introductions to the Colleges and Universities
Cumbria Tourism has strong relationships with colleges and universities both in county and further afield. Introductions can be formed between the employer and the employment engagement advisors. Careers activity
Cumbria Tourism is heavily involved with visiting schools, colleges and universities to deliver insights into a career in Tourism & Hospitality, to inspire audiences and change negative perceptions. Sponsoring Overseas Workers

Working with HMP Haverigg
HMP Haverigg is an open prison, where many of the ex-offenders can work under ROTL (Release on Temporary License). Several businesses have recruited chefs, kitchen porters, gardeners through this scheme.
