Since June 2021 Cumbria Tourism has been working with partners inside and outside of the county to encourage and help people into jobs.
The Tourism industry has been struggling to recruit enough staff since Brexit and the Covid Pandemic, largely due to overseas staff no longer being available and Cumbria having a super ageing population. As a result of this the industry is looking at innovative ways to encourage people to consider careers within this vibrant sector.
Since June 2021 Cumbria Tourism has been working with partners inside and outside of the county to encourage and help people into jobs. These partners include; Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, Cumbria LEP, Department for Work & Pensions, Inspira, Centre for Leadership Performance, Furness Education & Skills Partnership & Cumbria Careers Hub.
Cumbria Tourism has forged fantastic relationships with the University of Cumbria as well as with all four Cumbrian Colleges (Kendal College, Lakes College, Carlisle College and Furness College) and these partners have funded the Tourism Talent Hub as they see the importance of the visitor economy in Cumbria.
